Welcome All those who come into contact with the church are welcomed. This can be through our designated “Welcomer” on a Sunday, liaison with church users groups, individual publicity leaflets and of course this web site!
Events The church is visible in the local community through the Pinner Association of Churches (PAC Fun Day, carol singing, Good Friday Walk of Witness, coffee shop) and via its own events such as the regular Autumn Bazaar, major services at the Christian festivals advertised in the community and linking up with all users of the church including the uniformed organisations (we are home to the 8th Pinner Cub Pack). We produce a regular Church Bulletin again centred on the major Christian festivals and are looking to develop this web site further.
Music A number of members of the church have been instrumental (sorry!) in helping set up music groups elsewhere:
- TGI Sunday (Youth Music Band at Eastcote Methodist church) - Charlie Churchill
- Creative Worship at Pinner United Free Church (Charlie Churchill and others)
- PAC Songs of Praise (number of members in the choir and orchestra)
- Leading worship at Circuit and Youth Services
- Singing Group perform at local residential homes (Avis Gerry, leader)
Outreach/Evangelism Courses Cannon Lane has been running an Alpha Course for three years and is running a fourth course in September 2010. The Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian Faith in a relaxed and low key atmosphere beginning with a meal together. For more information click HERE
Christian-based Lunch Club This club is run by members of the church at Cannon Lane Middle School and leads on from the work done by Re:Generation
Social Events The church has an active social committee that organise approximately 8 varied events across the year and open to all. These tend to be well attended and enjoyed and also raise money for charity. For more information on events coming up, click HERE.
Open Church Do you feel like a respite - a brief time of peace and quiet in a busy week? - The Church is open FOR YOU every Friday at 12.30pm.
Youth Club Following a slightly difficult start to the year, the club now runs with between 6 and 20 members of Tuesday evenings. There has been a publicity drive in February 2007 and the arrival of some new equipment and volunteer helpers.
8th Pinner Cubs This cub pack has been based at Cannon Lane for many years and is under the watchful eye of Akela, Caroline Steggals, one of our stewards
