Post X:alt - survey results
Here's reporting back on the findings of the Steering group looking at the viability of a future event along the lines of the highly successful X:alt series of services in 2005 - 2006.

From the extensive survey that was taken, we are disappointed to say there is insufficient swell of support to justify developing a replacement worship service at the current time.

Whilst there is a small core of people who would want a continuance in some form, this was not sufficient to justify considering planning something new.Cathy Smith will be speaking with Mike directly on this, and Bob Miller will be filtering the conclusions through to the Circuit Leadership Team as part
of his work for the Circuit review

Finally, can we take this opportunity of thanking you for help in conducting this survey.

Bibles for Africa
Book Aid is always asking for second-hand Bibles, any version, in reasonably good condition and I shall be taking a load to the collecting point at the CRE Exhibition in May.

Cannon Lane Autumn Bazaar, Saturday 15th September from 11am-2pm
Please put this date in your diary!  The committee are hoping that usual stallholders will be available to help.  Anyone who wishes to join in the fun, please see Judy, Marlene or Sue to discuss. Help varies from baking cakes, manning stalls, helping in setting up the night before or early on the Saturday, clearing away afterwards, or even delivering leaflets!  Nearer the time, we will be asking for bric-a-brac, toiletries, books, videos, etc.  Please keep this mind when you are next clearing out!

How you can help support Alpha
One of the basic principles of Alpha is the sharing of a meal at the start of every session, in order that the participants can get to know each other and feel comfortable sharing experiences with each other.

To facilitate this we need 3 teams of 4 volunteers to prepare, serve & wash up a simple two-course meal for up to 20 people (2 groups of 8 participants & 4 leaders) on a rota basis. The course will run on Wednesday evenings from September 12th and you would only need to be available every 4th week. You will be reimbursed for the cost of the food you provide.

This is a very practical way in which you can ensure that the Alpha course runs smoothly.  Please give this serious consideration and, if you are able to help, please sign the list in the vestibule.

Flower Rota
Please would you consider providing flowers for a Sunday convenient to you, as there are several gaps on the rota (see notice board in the vestibule). Thank you.
